One Central Park wins “Best Tall Building in the World”

One Central Park was last week awarded the prestigious title of “Best Tall Building in the World” as voted by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) in Chicago, USA

Like most who see the show-stopping building for the first time, it made Juror and Executive Director of CTBUH, Antony Wood “… stop dead”.

He went on to add, “There have been major advances in the incorporation of greenery in high-rise buildings over the past few years – but nothing on the scale of this building has been attempted or achieved. One Central Park strongly points the way forward, not only for an essential naturalization of our built environment, but for a new aesthetic for our cities – an aesthetic entirely appropriate to the environmental challenges of our age.”

Tensile’s involvement included the design, engineering and installation of the green facades which cover 1800sq meters of the two towers. From the outset we knew One Central Park was going to be an amazing project, one which pushed the boundaries of what had been done before, or even thought possible.

Tensile is extremely proud to have been amongst those involved in creating this iconic building, amongst those that should be recognised include the facade team from Watpac; Junglefy; Design Landscapes; Dennis Bunt Consulting Engineers; Berry Design and Palamont Group.
